Prayer Ministry

“Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer.”  John Bunyon
Sister Johnson will be joining our sister churches in feeding the homeless the day before Thanksgiving.  People of Prayer please look at your schedules and see if you can adjust your time to cover them in prayer on the premises as they serve and be available for anyone who requests prayer.  It is not just prayer ministry that shoulders this request.  We need your praying on the premises help.  Talk to Sis Johnson for the time to be of service and where.  Thank you.

Sabbath, November 7, 2015.  Pastor Dorsey.  Sermon Title:  This Too Will Pass.  Supporting Scripture Rev. 3:21.
We paid tribute to our veterans and thank God for them and their service to our country.  We  are all veterans  of  a type of war.  The war that has been going on from the place of perfection.  Those who caused the war had to get out.
“I will invite who is victorious to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on His throne.” Rev. 3:21, NLT
Then there was war in heaven.  Michael and the angels under his command fought the dragon and his angels.  And the dragon lost the battle and was forced out of heaven.  This great dragon the ancient serpent called the Devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole whole was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.  Rev.  12:7-9 NLT
We act like we aren’t in war and not follow the precepts that we have been taught.  We are fighting a battle where the evil one is attempting to steal our salvation.  If we aren’t saved it is because we gave it away.
A final word. Be strong with the Lord’s mighty power.  Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil.  For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.  Ephesians 6: 10-12 NLT
The Devil chases us but some times we chase the devil as well.  Some people create their own storms and we complain when we get rained on.
There are levels of Spiritual Warfare
1)  We need to understand how to Follow Directions
Why do we always have something to say about God’s directions.
1 John 5:3
Loving God means keeping His commandments and His commandments are not burdensome.  NLT
I have a have  lot more to say about this but it is hard to get across to you since you have picked up this bad habit of not listening.  By this time you ought to be teachers yourselves, yet here I find you need someone to sit down with you and go over the basics on God again, starting from square one baby’s milk, when you should have been on solid food long ago!  Milk is for beginners, inexperienced in God’s ways, solid food is for the mature, who have some practice  in telling right from wrong,
Message Bible Hebrews 5: 11-14.
Either we are listening or we don’t want to.
 Hebrews 6:1-6 NLT
So let us stop going over the basics of Christianity again and again.  Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding.  Surely we don’t need to start all over again with the importance of turning away from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.

You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgement.  And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.

For it is impossible to restore to  repentance those who were once enlightened those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come and who then turn from God.  It is impossible to bring such people to repentance again because they are nailing the Son of God to the cross again by rejecting him holding up to public shame.  Hebrews 6: 1-6, NLT
Psalm 40: 8
You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings, Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings. NLT
2)  Empowered by Love
Love is the central them of every single thing we do.
This is how much God loved the world.  He gave his Son, his one and only Son.  And this is why: so that no one need to be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.  John 3:16-17  Message Bible
We have been confusing things Jesus loves us regardless of how we act.  He will give us what we want even if it is not Him.
It’s on us if we are destroyed.
 Read Romans 8: 35-39 NLT
3)  Believe in the Unseen
Characteristics of a Veteran
  • Follows Directions
  • Empowered by Love
  • Believe in the Unseen
David in his quiet times with God and reviewing his victories with the Lion and the Bear knew God was with him and that he could take on Goliath and win.
This  is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. 1 Cor. 2:9 NLT
Even though fighting is going on victory is assured.
Don’t be troubled.  You trust God, now trust in Me.  There are many rooms in My Father’s home, and I am going to prepare a place for you.  If this were were not so , I would tell you plainly.  When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that will always be with me where I am.  John 14: 1-3  NLT
Our company is going to change.
I heard a loud shout from the throne saying, Look, the home of God is now among his people!  He will live with them, and they will be his people.  God himself will be with them.  He will remove all of their sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain for the old world and its evils are gone forever.  Revelation 21: 3-4
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You so much for Redemption and for saving us.  Your love is amazing and overwhelming that you love us to die for as the song says.  Wow!  This Too Will Pass.  We have the victory although we have to fight.  Victory is assured and the Unseen is apart of our victory just like You were present for David you are present for us.  If we spend time alone with You like David did, we will have victories just like David in our own experiences.  We need to follow directions, be empowered by Love, and believe in the Unseen.
You are an AWESOME God.  Forgive us for not following directions, not accepting how loved we are and not recognizing and appreciating the Unseen that is involved in our victories.  We crucify you afresh when we overlook the sacrifice You made for us, oh my goodness, how cruel and ungrateful can we be? Please forgive us.  We praise, pray and thank You.  In the name of Jesus.  Amen!
