An Intentional Perspective

Mission:  to use our God given gifts and talents to empower our community through love to become disciples of Jesus Christ.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God and God in him.  1 John 4:16.

“The more nearly the Christian imitates the divine Pattern, the more surely will he make himself a mark for the attacks of Satan.  Christ will give strength to all who seek it.  No man without his own consent can be overcome by Satan.”

Sabbath, November 21, 2015.  Pastor T. Duwayne Privette.  Pastor of Sharon SDA Church, Baltimore MD.  Sermon Title: An Intentional Perspective.  Supporting Scripture:  Romans 8: 28-30.
There’s a lot going on in the world and sometimes it appears as if God is not in control, and regardless of how it looks and how the enemy may seem to be advancing, God is still in control.  Our perspectives should always be filtered by what God is doing and the limits He has in how the world rolls out its intentions.
From Latin word–providentia
Means ‘forsight’ to see ahead
God knows everything.
Free will–God gave mankind the responsibility to make their own choices and live with the consequences.
Deuteronomy 30:19  I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both them and thy seed may live:
Four Things to rest your Faith on
1) God’s ability to provide and preserve all things
2)  God’s power to rule over all things (Daniel, Matthew 24, Revelation)
3)  God’s authority to over rule all things
4)  God’s sovereignty to limit and restrain
God’s Purpose
  • Cause you to detach your affections from the things of this world and long more for your heavenly home
  • Educate you on YOU! How feeble, frail, and foolish we are causing us to rely more fully upon His wisdom, His truth, His promises and His power.
When we are traveling along the highway we have road signs to help us get to our destinations safely if we interpret them correctly.  They guide us where we are going.  Some people don’t read the signs correctly and they end up getting hurt and/or killed on the journey.  Are using God’s Word and communing with the Son, and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you? The road signs must also be interpreted correctly on our spiritual journey.
Read the following scriptures:
Job 1:21
Job 2:10
1 Samuel 3:18
John 18:11
In every situation God is in control has His limits and can be trusted in all situations if we trust Him.  He does respect our choices despite us blaming Him for the consequences.  If we love and serve Him we will be safe in Him no matter what the wicked try to do to us.  Be comforted in knowing that there are no surprises with God and He has an intentional perspective.  Remember He died for you and that is reason enough to believe He has made provision for you, He has pwoer to rule over alll things, He has power to over rule all things, He is sovereign to limit and to restrain.  As you contemplate his purpose for you.  What will your choice be?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You so much for Your divine intentional perspective.  Thank You for making a way out for us on the cross.  We still can’t get how costly that still is for You.  We crucify You a fresh with some of our decisions, oh wow!  You died, rose again and gave us hope.  We continue to sin and You get to witness and see how we fall prey to the enemy when You have promised victory.   Please forgive us again. Help us get Your purpose for us.  Let us detach from the things of this world and rely fully on You.   “To every nation and to every individual God has assigned a place in His great plan.  Today men and nations are being tested by the plummet in the hand of Him who makes no mistake.  All are by their own choice deciding their destiny, and God is overruling all for the accomplishment of His purposes.”  Father, Thank You for Your lavish love and sacrifice for us.  Help us to get it and know that the enemy is working daily for our ruin.  Help us to study Your Word and discern his snares and trust You no matter how it looks and what we are going through.  You are in control and have already worked it out if we stay in Your hand. Help us to remember from the above scriptures that others have gone before us and You did not fail them and You will not fail us either if we choose You. Help us to stand on your promises and know that it will work out for our good because we love and serve You.  You take care of Your own.    We pray, praise and thank You.  In the name of Jesus. Amen.
